Sometimes I take the liberty of respectfully declining to sell to people. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s in the best interest of all involved. After a thorough chart analysis and a gemstone consultation, the people who probably aren’t ready to wear powerful gemstones yet (and will likely return whatever they do buy) sound more or less like this:

“But everything wrong in my life is my mother-in-law’s fault!”
“But everything wrong in my life is Saturn’s fault!”
“I don’t like anything you offer or suggest for me.”
“I’m going to ask you for advice and then I’m going to insist that nothing will actually help me solve my problems.”

Don’t get me wrong – we all have some degree of obstacles, challenges, grief, and trauma in our history. This is an undeniable fact and I welcome open discussion about it. Exploring these things with honesty can lead us to a path of greater illumination.

The word Jyotish literally translates to “Science of Light,” something I believe means “greater awakening through the study of personal and cosmic cycles.” Malefic influences in our birth charts can show us where unhealthy patterns of perception are buried and it’s incredible how uncovering these patterns can open us up to new opportunities. This process can also allow powerful Jyotish gemstones to really do their job – in fact gems often inspire the greatest awakening of people’s lives.

After working with thousands of clients I’ve learned that some people aren’t ready for Jyotish gemstones yet because they’re subconsciously not ready for change. And that’s okay! We all evolve at our own pace. However, if we do want to get a gemstone, we must remember that astrological gems do not work for us, they work with us. They are a powerful form of therapy. They have the potential to help us transform our lives but they require our participation in the process to be effective.

Here’s how to know if you’re truly ready for gemstone therapy:

1.) You are accountable.

The best candidates for gems are brave enough to explore their hidden patterns of behavior, their blind spots, and their unconscious habits. These people are rewarding for us to work with because they’re aware of the benefits of transformation and they believe in the success that’s on its way. They also understand that there may be additional work to do to achieve this success and they’re prepared to do it. They absorb the rewards of their work and they recognize the beneficial effects of the gemstones they wear.

2.) You are well-versed in your own values.

Many of you know that I take research seriously and regularly study the effects that our gemstones have on people. I’ve noticed that those who love the gems they buy, learn from their karma, and practice gratitude and integrity in their daily lives have the clearest and most direct results with gemstone therapy.

My primary goal with most people is to predict, in literal and specific ways, the results they can anticipate getting from wearing particular gemstones. (I also request updates from customers to make sure my predictions remain accurate.) My secondary goal is to help identify the specific qualities and values that a person ought to start focusing on to receive the results they tell me they want in their lives. Everybody would like to make more money, for example, but what qualities can we focus on to help manifest that increase in income? How is our relationship to self-discipline doing these days? How is our sense of resilience and self-worth? What do we honestly get up in the morning for, what do we honestly look forward to doing during the day? The more we can fine-tune the resonance of what we want more of, what we need to focus on to achieve our greatest goals, the more direct the results of karmic movement and Ayurvedic gemstone therapy becomes.

3.) You are open.

One of the best parts of my job is the feedback I get after a client purchases the right gemstone for themselves. Many begin feeling the effects of the stones before they even receive them in the mail. These people are excited about their investments and the clear possibilities ahead of them. We’ve seen customers get jobs, promotions, and unexpected raises that pay for their stones almost immediately after they’re purchased. We’ve seen long-term issues sort themselves out within days of putting on a good gem. The people who get the best results are, more often than not, also a joy for me to work with because they’re receptive to meaningful advice and grateful for the effectiveness of Vedic remedies.

4.) You are ready.

Many of our customers have already done a lot of work on themselves, they’re honest and kind, they’re ready for all the glory life has to offer them but they still find themselves occasionally stuck or struggling. They’re proactive in their lives, not idling or procrastinating or hiding behind excuses – they simply need some good luck and support to come their way. These people are great candidates for gemstone therapy because they’ve already set themselves up on a path of alignment, they just need a little bit of a cosmic boost to get to where they’re meant to be going.

Jyotish gemstones can be an immensely helpful tool for this, especially when a gemstone’s corresponding planet is auspicious and well-placed in the birth chart but weak by degree or afflicted by a functional malefic. Activating and supporting our planetary allies means supporting our pathway to an optimal future in the most efficient way possible from both an astrological and a karmic perspective.
