We know through analytics that many people visit our website, look at the prices of our astrological gemstones, and bounce after a couple of seconds. Many of these visitors probably think that our inventory is wildly overpriced. I certainly get this feedback all the time from people who contact me and simply don’t know any better.
Fortunately, those who buy from us understand that the gems we carry are the highest quality in the world for astrological purposes, and that these types of gems don’t come cheap. With education comes respect for the quality we carry, and for our prices, which are actually quite competitive.
The world’s finest gemstones are valued according to their rarity. Premium untreated material becomes harder to find every year and market prices continue to rise at an unprecedented rate. We travel regularly looking for exceptional gems at old market prices, and we have sources all over the world keeping an eye out for the quality we require, but the hunt to find exactly what we want is a neverending challenge. Lower quality, less expensive gemstones still exist in abundance, but they don’t work for Jyotish, which is why we don’t sell them.
“But I can get a Jyotish gemstone from another website for under $100!”
Gemstones come at every price point because they come in every range of quality. You can buy opaque rubies, sapphires, and emeralds that look like fancy aquarium gravel for hardly any money at all. These gems don’t work for Jyotish. You can also buy gems that look high-end for under $20 from websites like eBay and Etsy. There are no regulations against sellers from certain countries showcasing synthetic gems claiming they’re natural and untreated, complete with falsified laboratory certificates, so it’s important to understand that the top tier of astrological gemstones will always be priced within a certain range of each other. Anything priced much lower indicates that something isn’t right.
If it looks too good to be true at a shockingly low price, you should assume that it is. The prices of the gems below, for example, should be seen as an immediate red flag.
Market prices are also always on the rise. Every year, the price of precious gemstones goes up. This is especially true for the top tier of rare gems because it’s nearly impossible to replace them. We’re seeing prices trending upwards of 30-50% for the material we regularly buy, just in the past year. We continue to acquire gems at old market prices whenever possible, but this is why we don’t have hundreds of gems for sale at any given time. There simply isn’t an abundance of these types of fine gems available.
“Can I have a 50% discount? Other websites are having huge sales.”
If a company isn’t going out of business and they’re selling their products for 50% off, you can assume they’ve put an exorbitant markup on those products to give you such a big discount. You aren’t getting a good deal simply because you got 50% off of an arbrirary price. We understand there’s an element of psychological appeal to getting a big discount, but we like to save your time as well as ours by starting as low as we can with our prices.
That said, if you’re a reader of our blog and have made it to the bottom of this article, treat yourself to the coupon code Jyotish10 for 10% off of the listed prices at AstrologicalGemstones.com.
